HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE 2020 - THE ULTIMATE SHOP SMALL LIST

FOR THE HOME DECOR ENTHUSIAST

My friend Katie just opened up her weaving shop, HelloHandwoven, with a small selection of the most beautiful wall hangings. Her pieces are already going fast, but you can still snag this neutral boho-style one. I can see it in just about any space!

My absolute favorite candle EVER comes from Michigan-based biz Simply Curated. It’s the Smoke + Embers scent, which is reminiscent of the perfect smoky bonfire, or the smell immediately after you blow out a match. IYKYK. All of their candles are made with 100% soy wax (and a wood wick!) and blended in small batches with fragrances and essential oils. Oh, and if you’re wanting to try out a few scents before you commit to a larger size, I highly suggest their travel candles.

FOR THE FASHIONISTA

I’m constantly obsessing over all of the beautiful clothing in my friend Kim’s boutique, Flower Wild. She just opened up a brick & mortar shop in Colorado to go along with her online storefront, and is honestly just winning at life right now. Just go ahead and get ready to add everything to cart. You’re welcome.

(Black-owned biz alert!) Jessica and I connected on social media through a local blogger group, and she is truly a bright light in my Instagram feed! (Find her at @uniquelyjessicarenee!) She is a Dirt Cheap deals queen, plant lady extraordinaire, and the owner of L+F Clothing Boutique. I feel like a lot of us have become plant parents during quarantine, so this tee is the perfect gift for pretty much everyone you know. It comes in cream and green. And if you’re planning a Zoom NYE party, why not get dressed up (just on top, of course!) with her new sequin top.

I’ve talked about Olive & June on Instagram stories so much, and I know y’all love them just as much as I do. I went with a festive red mani (color: JG) as soon as the calendar switched over to December, and I’m loving all of their new fun holiday colors. (Oh, and if you’re trying them out for the first time, you can get $10 off your $50 purchase by clicking this link.)

FOR THE QUARANTINE QUEEN

I get all of my masks from LeMonge Collections on Etsy. They fit so well and are super comfy and cute. Jocelyn has lots of festive Christmas styles available, too. Remember, wearing a mask protects you and everyone around you! Always be respectful and safe when you have to leave the house!

I discovered State Street Soap Co. at a local Christmas market a few years ago and fell in love with their Mulled Cider hand soap. It’s so gentle on your hands (perfect for washing them regularly during this time!) and it smells like Christmas all year round! They have some other delicious-sounding scents like Peppermint, Apple Pie, and Cinnamon Cocoa! I also discovered their Shampoo Bars, which I love because each one is equal to 3 bottles of shampoo with exactly ZERO plastic waste! (I think I’m going to try the Rosemary Mint and Apricot Freesia!)

FOR THE ART CONNOISSEUR

Not only is my friend Heather Kent incredibly talented, she’s offering FREE domestic shipping on everything in her shop until the end of the year! Her Doggos book is an incredible gift, and I especially love her one of a kind hand-painted ornaments that are only available during Christmas! She has already sold out of several, but (as of right now!) you can still snag this one below!

Scarlet & Gold is a local Alabama-based small business with tons of awesome apparel, accessories, gameday essentials, and home decor. I just adore their Believe in Tomorrow floral print.

FOR THE PERSON WHO HAS EVERYTHING

My friends over at Konbit Haiti just launched an incredible subscription donation program called The Well, and it would be the perfect gift for the person who “has it all” or “doesn’t need any more stuff”. For as little as $10 per month, you can make a massive difference in a Haitian community by providing support in family programs, business and leadership development, and environmental projects. Plus, you’ll get full transparency about exactly where your money is going, monthly updates from Konbit Haiti’s founders, quarterly opportunities to join a Zoom call with the founders and Haitian community leaders to ask questions and get involved even further. Additionally, as a member of The Well, you’ll also receive insider opportunities to register for Konbit Haiti and Konbit Collective events before they go live to the general public. Check out this page for detailed information on how to be a part of this incredible organization!

FOR THE DISNEY LOVER

These next two small businesses are for the Disney lover in your life. Make it Minnie and Lillian & Co. are my go-to places for minimal magical jewelry. You could say it’s a bit of an obsession, honestly. This Pirates of the Caribbean inspired necklace from Make it Minnie and this Carousel of Progress quote pendant from Lillian & Co. are both on my Christmas list this year!

I hope you found a new small biz you love in this super duper roundup! Know of one that you think should be included in a future gift guide? Drop a link below or come tell me on Instagram! Hope you’re having a holly jolly holiday!

XO, CHRISTEN
